12/03/2020 - Club Meeting - Any Questions Season Opener
Location: The Compass Inn, Tormarton
Contact: Rich Harding

Details

March's meeting is going to be one of the Any Questions panels that we run from time to time, with pilots from a mix of flying backgrounds and with a wide range of experience available to discuss the topics that you, the audience, would like to cover.

Particularly bearing in mind the enforced layoff that a lot of pilots have endured this winter, I'm sure that there will be a fair bit of focus on safety, particularly in the context of pilot rustiness. There is also new airspace and so on to discuss. For newer pilots, we will also make sure we cover all of best used sites.

The panel will consist of:

Alistair Andrews: Alistair started flying in 2003 and has brought a lot of energy and enthusiasm to the sport, not least through encouraging others to progress, something which he continues to develop as CFI of Crickhowell Paragliding.

Viv Fouracre: Viv is an experienced XC pilot - currently sitting second in this year's nascent XC League - and also a long-time committee member of the British Paragliding Cup.

Chris Jones: Chris has been flying since the mid 80s, with two terms on the BHPA Exec and over two decades on the Avon Committee. Experienced with flex wings, rigids and paragliders, he was one of the first BHPA Senior Coaches, helped create the Coaching Manual, and his approach to flying emphasises enjoyment and safety for all.

Tim Pentreath: Tim has been flying paragliders for thirty years, is an experienced and successful XC and competition pilot, and has recently started exploring the world of vol biv flying.
