Airspace

The Avon HG & PG Club has access agreements to several areas of controlled airspace.

Bristol Airport Air Traffic Control (ATC)  allow us fair and flexible use of their airspace whenever possible. We have two agreements with them, covering use of the so-called "Bath Gap", and Ubley, situated on the northern side of the Mendip Hills only 5 miles from Bristol Airport and within Bristol Airport's CTZ.

Westbury/Bratton site has concessionary access to areas of the Salisbury Plain Danger Area is available via an agreement with Salisbury Plain Air Operations.

Keevil Airfield (NE of Westbury) is occasionally used as a parachute drop zone, but if it's not active we can confirm permission to fly through it.

A concession for un-powered HG and un-powered PG has been agreed that allows us to transit through R105, a restricted flying zone based on Highgrove House, located south of Tetbury in the Cotswolds.
