As they didn’t know your face, I guess they all thought you were some sky-god from up north and were too overawed to approach you. But seriously, people are out on the hill to fly and have fun. More often than not they will be chatting with friends and just forget to approach new faces. If club pilots spoke to everybody they didn’t recognise, they’d have no time left to fly, especially on busy sites like Westbury. Once you have broken the ice you’ll find that Avon pilots are helpful and friendly. If you are the shy type and don’t like approaching strangers on the hill, then contact one of the club coaches or low airtime contacts and come along to the monthly club meetings. |
